World Cerebral Palsy Day Award Winner – Medical/Therapeutic


The Major Award for Medical & Therapeutic goes to Amar Seva Sangam for their project Mobile Village Based
Rehabilitation Initiative Application known as the MVBRI App. With support
from Grand Challenges Canada, Handy Care International Canada, and Azim Premji
Philanthropic Initiative Amar Seva Sangam produced a mobile application to
help with their home-based early intervention program for children with
cerebral palsy and delayed development in rural India. The app allows
rehabilitation specialists to set treatment goals and therapeutic
protocols for community rehabilitation workers to follow, and helps the
specialists track each child’s progress. Amar Seva Sangam has been able to
screen 40,733 children. Amara Seva Sangam’s goal is to reach all children with delayed development and cerebral
palsy in the state of Tamil Nadu by 2030.
