The Small Training Provider: Academy of Interactive Entertainment’s Story

♪ (Music Playing) ♪ I’m Neil Boyd and I’m the Director of Business Development and Marketing for AIE. I’m Graeme Dickson. I’m the Head of School of the Canberra Academy of Interactive Entertainment. AIE runs courses in gaming programming, in 3D animation and visual effects for film, in game design and game art. Students that come to AIE are really interested in developing their practical hands on skills, and that’s the real focus of vocational education and training, giving people the skills to get employment and the skills that employers want. The students are getting so many valuable skills from an industry and training perspective that they are able to go on and work on big name movies as well as AAA games. AIE enters the Training Awards because it’s a great opportunity to look back on the last 12 months and look at what we’ve accomplished. When we were nominated and won the state level and then went on to win the nationals, it was a fantastic recognition of the quality of what we do. Winning at a local level and winning at a national level means that the recognition you get spreads far and wide. ♪ (Music Playing) ♪
