The recording industry is getting ready to
hand out its coveted Grammy awards this Sunday. Rapper Jay-Z leads the pack in Grammy nominations. He’s up for eight, including album of the
year. Kendrick Lamarr and Bruno Mars came in second
and third as the most nominated artists. Both are scheduled to perform at the show. The Grammys are already sending a strong message
of diversity. This year, the seven most nominated artists
are all people of color. And the song “Despacito” could make history
as the first Spanish-language song ever to win song of the year. The Grammy awards air Sunday night on CBS.
