2019 WEGO Health Awards Winner for Lifetime Achievement, Tom Kindlon

(upbeat orchestral music) – The story matters because
it took me over five years to get diagnosed. I went from being mildly affected, able for a full time education, to being house bound with
numerous debilitating symptoms. A level I’ve been at now for 25 years. With an earlier diagnosis
and better management, my health would never have
deteriorated to this level. There needs to be more
awareness and understanding of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, which affects millions worldwide. And more done to alleviate the suffering. I share my story because
more needs to be done to help the millions affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
around the world.
