Odd that one of the best musicians on that stage – guitar and vocal – got no mention or play time. Don’t get me wrong – it was amazing, but I could have definitely lived without John Hiatt’s contribution had Darrell Scott had gotten that lead – they’re not even in the same sport, let alone league. My 2 cents worth.
Why is that no talent from Alabama Shakes up there?
AAAaaaaand… you put… put…errrr…. the load….. wait… er… right on.. me!
nice cover of a great piece of Canadiana. Always love Bonnie Raitt and particularly impressed with Miss Howard.
WHO ARE THEY MAN AND WOMAN SHOWN RIGHT AS THE SONG BEGINS. THE WOMAN HOLDS HER MOUTH LIKE SHE IS WHISTLEING! TIA!
If this were the CMA Awards it would be a plastic, glitzy abomination.
Buddy Miiler too, right??
This beautiful video with many artists has been included in my "FAVORITES" playlist. Greetings and happy day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg8csEhcNMk ROADHOUSE BOOGIE (Duane Eddy & his Twangy Guitar – cover)
But what a marvelous show, what wonderful and high-level artists: a real delight for the ears of the spectators. Congratulations and greetings to Italy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxK7d1BQk4g NASHVILLE BOOGIE (Gibson Guitar)
Emmylou can sing the dictionary and I'd pay to hear it.
Bonnie Raitt is simply incomparable.
A privilege to hear
Truly a great American song. They don't get much more American in flavor than The Weight. And only Levon helm could have written it.
Bonnie Raitt! Yow! the whole thing was good, but…So glad I saw Levon warm up for Dylan at SPAC about a year before he passed. Saw the Band warm up for the Dead once also. Great music.
Brittany Howard is amazing, and Bonnie always makes me feel it
Fucking love the band and this song…this touching tribute started off weak as crickets piss but it filled out quickly and beautiful
I absolutely adore Bonnie Raitt. and love Brittany Howard, her style is unique. They're all great.
Brittany Howard could have stepped in for anyone of the Staples in the Last Waltz.Bonnie Raitt is about as bad ass as the come.Would have loved to hear John Hiatt sing the whole song.
Damn…Bonnie Raitt…still got the chops and vocals!
Bonnie sounding just like she did when i saw here at Umass in "83
To me there are only three kinds of real Americans.1) White Anglo Saxon Americans because they were the ones who conceived of and built the nation with their own hands in the first place.2) American Indians who were living on the land before the White Anglo Saxons.3) Afroid Americans who were brought over against their own choices from the very beginning of the nation and learned to survive living in a system desigened by White Anglo Saxon Americans.
The rest …. Mexicans, Irish, Chinese, Italians, Polaks and especially these new Pakistanis, Jews and other muhammedans all seem somewhat bleek and more like visitors, immigrants job seekers etc.
The true America was born of those first three nations of Anglo-Saxons, Amerindians and Afroid Slave imports.
That was awful. The Band rules.
God Bonnie Raitt! Guitar and voice!
Don’t know who Levon is
The humanitarian spirit lives in the music that came from the generation represented by those playing like they’ve done it their way for the rest of us to admire
Levon's soul is infinitely beyond these imitators . . .
I think they butchered it !
